Growth Opportunities at Bancroft Contracting
Providing a merit shop environment allows Bancroft employees to choose their own path forward. While the construction world can always use an entry-level laborer, many people are not content with that role and aspire to do something more. We recognize that and provide both field and classroom training opportunities for our employees to advance their abilities and careers in construction.
Career Development Programs
Partnering with AGC of Maine has allowed Bancroft to send some of its best employees to crane school and earn their NCCCO license. Partnering with local Tech Schools has allowed Bancroft to provide employees with an opportunity to earn their Class A or B CDL. From the basics of SMAW to the intricacies of GTAW and everything in between on structural, pipe, and code welding, an in-house welding school allows Bancroft employees to learn how to weld and achieve welding certifications.
Opportunities to Lead
Many members of Bancroft management (from Foremen to the Owner), started as field laborers and literally worked their way up by learning the work performed and why it was performed that way. This approach has been critical to the function of the company, as it provides a much more thorough understanding of the work than the sole reading of a textbook could ever provide. It also promotes internal mentorships that guide the next generation of construction workers and managers in their learning and understanding of the work being performed.
