Oxford Hills Touch-a-Truck and May Day Play Day
South Paris Trunk-or-Treat
At the Paris Fire Station, we brought out the Wife’s Nightmare with monster truck tires and special green underglow lighting to match the Halloween spirit. Given the height of the truck, we designed a custom pipe attachment for the tailgate to safely dispense candy down into buckets and pillowcases below.
Representing Bancroft, our team handed out thousands of pieces of candy to children from the local community. The turnout was phenomenal, the costumes were creative and unique, and the event was a tremendous success in our eyes. The icing on the cake was the special escort to the South Paris Fire Station by two cruisers from the South Paris Police Department and an escort home from the Fire Chief — a memorable end to a fantastic evening.

Olympia Build Video – Bethel, Maine’s World’s Tallest SnowWoman
In 1999 and 2008 Bancroft Contracting was provided with a unique opportunity to put the nearby town of Bethel, Maine in the spotlight of the world! With the assistance of Bancroft’s cranes, these gigantic snow people came to be built and claim the throne for the World’s Tallest Snowman in 1999, and then beating the record in 2008!
When completed in 1999, Angus was 113′ 7″ tall (10 stories), with an 80’ diameter base, and weighed in at approximately 8,000,000 lbs (4,000 tons). This shear size allowed him to withstand melting until June 10, 1999.
In 2008 Bethel wanted to up the ante and Olympia was built. At 122′ 1″ (11 stories), she needed a wider base (125’) and weighed an astonishing 13,000,000 lbs (6,500 tons)! With this additional size, Olympia withstood many of Western Maine’s summer days and only finally completely melted on July 30, 2008.
Their mouths were car tires, buttons were skidder tires, their arms were 25′ spruce trees, and their hats were 16′ and 20′ diameter fabric made by middle school students. Olympia’s eyelashes were alpine skis.
