Community Engagement at Bancroft Contracting
At Bancroft Contracting, we believe that success is measured not only by the projects we build but also by the positive impact we create in the communities we serve. Our commitment to community engagement and involvement reflects our core values of integrity, responsibility, and giving back.
Supporting Local Initiatives
We proudly partner with local organizations, schools, and charities to support initiatives that strengthen our communities. From sponsoring events and youth programs to providing resources for community development, Bancroft Contracting is dedicated to making a meaningful difference.
Encouraging Employee Volunteering
At Bancroft, we encourage our employees to take an active role in giving back. Our team regularly participates in volunteer opportunities, contributing time and skills to projects that benefit local communities. Whether it’s helping with community clean-ups or mentoring local youth, we believe in the power of collective action.
Technical and Vocational High School demonstrations
We are proud to give back to the youth in various ways. One of which is providing practical, hands-on demonstrations of the work we perform in the field such as welding, form system construction, mechanical alignments, and carpentry. In addition to the hands on, we also put together a presentation to talk with these students about the other work Bancroft Contracting undertakes in hopes to aspire these young minds to explore a variety of career paths and find the one that is right for them!

Maine Construction Career Days
We hope this is the first of many to come, as this proved to be an exceptional way to expose students to a HUGE variety of construction careers, all within just a handful of acres. Our laser alignment system proved to be a unique offering and provide the students with some insight into the life of a millwright. In attendance on our behalf was the well-rounded group of Dylan Wike, James Lewin, and Joe Costello.
After the smashing success of the event’s first year, we had to get ourselves to the second! We wanted to make sure our offering was as unique this year as it was from last year, so we brought one of our Brokk 170 demolition robots for the students to operate. Additionally, we brought one of our 30-ton boom trucks and a handful of Symons concrete forms. The combination of Joe Costello, Bob Pratt, Ryan Patridge, and Jason Soucy provided the students with a good time operating the Brokk and learning more about the wide variety of careers that Bancroft can provide to them.
We were back at it again with the Brokk 170 demolition robot after significant interest last year from students, teachers, and even other vendors! With over 15 years of field experience, Joe Berube was a great addition this year to handling the Brokk’s demonstration and teach some of the students how to use it. Supplementing this practical demonstration was the combination of Joe Costello, Bob Pratt, and Ryan Patridge, who each educated students and teachers more about the wide variety of careers that Bancroft can provide. It was an incredible turnout with schools coming from all around the state! We’ll be looking forward to next year’s event!
ABC Maine Craft Championship
We partnered with one of our great vendors, United Rentals, to provide nearly 1,000 students and teachers with an opportunity to experience what it’s like to go up in a scissor lift and work. While we didn’t put any of the students to work, they certainly had a great experience and took home an idea of what it’s like to work at heights in the world of industrial construction from a great group of Bancroft employees: Mandy Ottone, Shane Child, Bob Pratt, Ryan Patridge, Toby Leighton, and Joe Costello.
Due to inclement weather, the event was cancelled. We look forward to 2025!
