Local CDL Driver - Mexico, ME

About the Job:

The Commercial Driver at Farrington Mountain will be frequently driving between the Mill Landfill in Mexico and the Mill itself to help with waste disposal and conditioning. The driver will also be assigned to help maintain the facility at Farrington Mountain by using a combination of hand- and power-tools and heavy equipment (such as front loader, bulldozer, and excavator). On rare occasion, this person may be asked to perform additional duties away from their normal route and duties. This person will also be required to perform vehicle pre- and post-trip inspections, maintain logs of vehicle servicing and repair, and working hours in compliance with local, state, and federal DOT regulations, as well as company policies and standards.

This position requires the Commercial Driver to live within a 25-mile radius of the Farrington Mountain Landfill, in Mexico, Maine, and may require travel and the ability to work away from home, on occasion, during peak seasons. A typical schedule is Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with rotating, 4-hour weekend shifts, however work can vary outside of these operating hours as the demands of production require. There may be times where overnight travel is required.

The Commercial Driver must have a valid Class A or B commercial driver’s license (“CDL”) license, with current knowledge and understanding of all DOT regulations and electronic logbooks. Employment is subject to a state and federal background check and a DOT-regulated pre-employment physical and drug screening with successful issuance of a DOT Medical Card.
